Ok, she can come back for a minute

I am talking about pajama girl of course...the one I kicked off my blog a while back.  Well go figure, she is 5, she gets her own blog, posts some art and boom! She is a star!!!  Just like that.  She entered her first challenge ever with Mixed Media Monday (a great place to start)  and submitted her "Found Art" for the Recycle and Repurpose challenge.  Well  not even a full week later the very wonderful Kaz notifies her about making Lauren's entry the "Art of the Week" .  Just like that!  Well, I guess she would have my vote too.

I just have to let you know it is all her.  My Pajama Girl has the most amazing imagination, I am even jealous.  When I tried showing her "Stuff" she can use for her found art (like there is anything she can't use) she told me it was her art .  I can quote her as saying.  "You don't control me or my art, you are not suppose to control people"  I laughed so hard I had a gut ache and could not go back to the hive without laughing for a while.  So there ya have it and if I had any control over anything in life it would be a miracle!

Thanks again for all your kindness, Lauren wants me to put a comment on everyone in the whole world's blog saying thank you.  In my eyes the boost in self esteem whether she needed it or not is a wonderful way to begin a week which will also bee known as her first week of kindergarten.  I pray that all children have a chance to feel like that every now and again and again!

Mixed Media Mania GIVE AWAY CONTEST

Everyone who knows me, knows I like to bee warm.  Where we live we are fortunate to have 4 seasons but winter is the longest as I joke we have 2 seasons...Winter and August.  One of the things I look forward to at the close of summer is my plans to organize and create since there is going to be increasingly more time inside.  This year is no exception with Pajama Girl starting kindergarten (full day) more guilt free time to myself to create.  I have noticed around the hive a TON of wonderful things that I wish I could send to all of you beecause I know you will love them and put it to good use.  Without further ado I will tell you about the contest. All numbers involved have special meanings.  In 1 week...7 days I will be celebrating by drawing the lucky winner of 41 fabulous categories of mixed media materials.  That is right...September 7th I will draw the lucky, lucky, lucky artist who will receive a care package of supplies big enough to last all winter long and then some!  Comments must be here by midnight September 6th, EDT. 

I am still organizing and gathering so this post will update on a regular basis with pictures to come.

ATC 000004...and some give aways!

My fourth ATC is up for swap and is the 10 minute piece from my Inspire Me Thursday post of creating against the clock.  Anyone interested in trading for this piece please comment below.  Also still available is the crazy ATC 000003.  The numbering is from an old pharmacy number stamp I reset and am stamping on the back of each one.  It stamps the number twice which was used once on the actual prescription and 2nd in the log books we used to keep before computers entered the pharmacy world.

UPDATE:  I will bee trading this ATC with Suki.  She too has hopped on the ATC train so if looking for more, take a look see here.  She has added the Suki touch as only she could do!  Love them all Suki!

  I can not beelieve she is parting with them, I have those issues and can pick them up over and over again.  Hurry, her "Mommy" is picking the winner on Tuesday Sept 2nd.

Needle Cases

Here are some fun custom needle cases I made a little while ago.  I had the ok from the giver to post without threat of ruining the surprise.  Hmmm, ya mean there is somebody out there who does not know about me?

These are for a sewing group of the gift giver.  I had just a few hints in regards to the "giftees".  From left to right there was a nurse (image is from a sewing book), there is a quilt lover, a tea party giver/lady bug fanatic and humming bird lover.  The last 2 on the right were random for anyone the gift giver might need a present for.

Mixed Media Monday~recycle/repurpose

This week on Mixed Media Monday is one of my favorites, the majority of my art has something recycled or repurposed.  It is non stop.  This week I choose to recycle something very special given to me.  Elizabeth from All Things Paper has given me a lovely award. (and Elizabeth should really submit her new assemblage doll at MMM this week, it is awesome)

A bead interruption!

I was having so much fun catching up and answering emails this morning before work I forgot to post a fun interruption in my life.  I got to pull out the beads.  Not that they have gone anywhere but I did so much beaded jewelry for a while I needed  a break to really paint.  It is tough when there are so many temptations and so little spare time.

So on a happy note someone had commissioned me to bring out the beads, I had to oblige!  Something blue, no problem I will make two!
