If you have not heard about it yet you really need to check out the "One World One Heart" giveaway event.  The host Lisa, from A Whimsical Bohemian, has created an event to unite and connect artists around the world in such an exciting way.  I, being 100% Czechoslovakian by nationality, have it in my blood to stop everything and jump aboard this Gypsy Caravan of hers.  Currently there are over 400 participants GIVING AWAY THEIR ART OR GOODIES.  The rules are the same for everyone involved and contest comments will be closed in the late evening on Feb 11.

The Winner~hand picked and home grown style

Ah, we have a winner and soon we will all know who it is.  Having a great 41st  birthday by the way, and if the  winner guessed it then they will win bonus prize.   This is the second time doing this post by the way, the first one locked up for some reason and is still all locked up on another screen.  So sorry for the delay.

One of the biggest thrills of this time of year for me is apple picking, especially this year with our first successful crop of apples.

So for all who entered you are taped to the bottom of an apple! (these are the only scissors I allow my husband to touch, hence the way they look)

The sun was very bright and I really thought the name would have showed better on the video clip once I got in on the computer, but we did take lots of pictures.

An interesting discovery, as I poked around more on Maya's blog just yesterday and checked her links I realized she lives now very near my home town.  Next time I go to visit mom, I hope to try and bribe her to be my tour guide of all the cool new spots in Ithaca, NY.  If Pajama Girl did not have to go to Kindergarten we could pack up and go tomorrow and hand deliver the goods.  She has only been 2 days and I am already feeling the strain on my social life!  No more mid week road trips for a while.

I loved all of your answers and guesses about what today is and your positive energy regarding the change of season.

I would appreciate each of the 41 items/categories with gusto and share my creations with you and folks reading maya*made...as I write, I keep scrolling up to look at everything again. I'm not just someone gushing because I want a "freebie"...I'd love to win, but more I'm just so happy to meet you and see we share a similar aesthetic! Okay... onto seasons:

Summer: swimming in the lake/creeks, eating from the garden, catching fireflies, summer dresses, flowers everywhere, my birthday,picking berries, hammocks, after dinner walks on a country road.

Fall: plucking apples from a tree, leaves on fire, carving pumpkins, making costumes, nippy mornings, knitting needles emerging, and little yellow school buses driving down the road.
I'm a great rambler...not so good at riddles. I assumed you were turning 41...but I loved how Gabrielle related it to bees....clever! I'll bee visiting again soon,

Mixed Media Mania GIVE AWAY CONTEST

Everyone who knows me, knows I like to bee warm.  Where we live we are fortunate to have 4 seasons but winter is the longest as I joke we have 2 seasons...Winter and August.  One of the things I look forward to at the close of summer is my plans to organize and create since there is going to be increasingly more time inside.  This year is no exception with Pajama Girl starting kindergarten (full day) more guilt free time to myself to create.  I have noticed around the hive a TON of wonderful things that I wish I could send to all of you beecause I know you will love them and put it to good use.  Without further ado I will tell you about the contest. All numbers involved have special meanings.  In 1 week...7 days I will be celebrating by drawing the lucky winner of 41 fabulous categories of mixed media materials.  That is right...September 7th I will draw the lucky, lucky, lucky artist who will receive a care package of supplies big enough to last all winter long and then some!  Comments must be here by midnight September 6th, EDT.

A give away from the land I make, "Beelieve"

When July started I had several fun, simple pieces in my "Fresh as Green" line so posting daily was as simple as the fresh art.  Then I sort of challenged myself to post every day the month of July, lets call it an experiment.  From challenge to experiment...to obsession and addiction.   I could not stay away and found it did not really consume a major part of my time, in fact it defined why I started keeping a web log to begin with.  To keep track of the thought, feeling and inspiration behind my art.  Posting daily is something I enjoy and a lot easier then I might of thought from the beegining of "Beelieve" since thoughts are fresh.    So without further rambling I would like to give a chance for all who have supported me as well as those I have not found yet a chance to win the piece you inspired.  All you need to do is leave a comment here as your chance to win.  I will put the names in my blue bee candy dish and have Lauren pick the winner.  Should there bee too many names for the candy dish...we will put them in a bee skep...if it gets beeyond that well I will have to figure out those computer random selection thingys.  The drawing will be held a week from today (I am big on the number 7) so in 7 days it will be August 7th.  I hope my lucky number is as lucky for you.
