"jump" was a spelling word this week for pj girl...and anything that i can capture in a photo is a challenge i will attempt. i did a jump shot a day for her and here are the results....
friday (with flare of course)
and my picture for today...saturday
I have wanted to photograph these chairs for so long...they were there...then gone...now back again so i "jumped" on over to the Blue Hen (a shop you would never know was there filled with all sorts of Amish handmade goodies) in Amsterdam NY to photograph them. the chairs are Amish made of composite decking, stainless steel hardware and fold up for easy storage...and you should see the colors!
“In Flanders Field the poppies bow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below” ~John McCrae
I have been excited and inspired by an amazing series co-started by Kristin and Dani ♥ called "walk with me" and could not wait to do a slide show.
I really thought my first one would be very different but today was a day that was different in my life and scenery. I had to go to my old stomping grounds in Albany NY for an appointment. Since there was no school today what better chance to bring my daughter along to NY State Museum what i did not expect after hours of fun was a silence that stopped me in my tracks...and today being a day of remembrance i chose these photos to start with. they are actual remnants of the 911 tragedy and those dedicated to making things better. please remember it has been 8 years without a tragedy like this...please remember why... read all about it here :: join in & post slide shows to the group here
and again, mixed media, book pages, machine stitching, gesso
and last one to show today is for Joss of Soulbrush
mixed media on black gesso, white charcoal drawing, iridescent pigment powder and paint
it is one i made quite a while ago, yeah...i know...i am holding everyone up...
This is called "Fly"and based on the quote:
" “Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures.” by Henry Ward Beecher
I will be getting these in the mail this week...and i would say fingers crossed...but not all of them...a week ago today marked a very monday-ish monday but all is well and i will not be losing my finger :) (and that is my tiny camera i now keep with me in case i ever ride in an ambulance again....weeeeee)
