yesterday I flew the country to get some much needed rainy day flare and I love it!
...just another reminder to bee aware of the importance of life's bigger things for the future.
i also received a lovely email from Shawn at Townsend leather in regards to Terry. I am honored that he sent it and am thrilled to share it with you.
My name is Shawn and I work at Townsend Leather. I had the incredible luxury of meeting Terry Brindle and working (although much to briefly) with her. I am one of a group that is heading up Townsend Leather’s new venture of designer handbags under the name TL Townsend Leather. It was an incredible pleasure and inspiration to meet Terry, to hear the things she said, and to be in her joyous presence. I came across your website as I was searching TL Townsend Leather (I do that periodically to see what else will come up in the search). Your posting about Terry was very touching, and since you mentioned TL Townsend Leather I wanted to offer you some more information about us.
As of today we do have an online store available. This is our temporary store; around Thanksgiving we will be able to launch our full website and our new online store. But because we have had so much interest in the Angel Collection we wanted people to have a way to purchase and support cancer awareness and research. So even though it is not the most beautiful online store, it works. www.TLTownsendLeather.com . We also have put together our current product catalog, which I have attached as a PDF and an order form, just for your reference.
This has been a very exciting and rewarding project to work on, I thought I would contact you and send this information along just because I am proud of being connected with Terry and I thought you would be interested in our information. I can continue to update you if you would like. Also, a lot of my role here with TL Townsend Leather has been, photographer. I have no expertise or knowledge of what I’m doing – ha, but I have the time and interest to do it, so I also attached one of my favorite pictures of Terry that I took when we visited her a few weeks ago, to show her the prototype of the Leah handbag, she obviously was very excited about it.
So anyway, I don’t mean to take up your time or bombard you with information that you may not need, I just thought your site was very interesting and it was exciting to see our name referenced in it – thank you for doing so, and it was also exciting to hear even more of how much of a positive and life changing impact Terry has had and will continue to have. Her battle has not yet been lost and will not be lost unless we all forget the power and inspiration of her and her message, and judging by the massive amount of people she has touched there is no way we will forget.
Thanks again for your post and your interest. Let me know if you have any questions about TL Townsend Leather, our connection with Terry, or anything else.
Thank you Karen,
and since he loved this picture, I will show it as well...and artists smile is something worth sharing
and to Terry....tickled with your flare and feel your power to continue being a warrior for a cure!
"Supporting a future that holds no place for cancer." - Terry Brindle
Terry Brindle, a friend and angel on earth 53 passes away peacefully at her home, Wednesday, September 30, 2009.
It was a long battle, and she triumphed many times
She taught Sunday school, was also a volunteer with the American Cancer Society and was very active with its Relay for Life. She also was a speaker at Making Strides for Breast Cancer and Zonta's Breast Cancer Awareness Program.
Terry's "Team Brindle" was the Relay for Life team that pushed me into making more art and selling it for a cause when another close friend was diagnosed with breast cancer as well. Terry made angels by the 1000's and sold them all to support the cause. I am a better person for knowing her and the fact that she left the day before a month dedicated to raising awareness for a cause has really affected me in ways I can not explain. If there were to only be one photo of mine to be explored, it would be this one and the importance of angels who help us to shift our focus. I will not be spending as much time here for a while as I need to shift my focus as well. I promise to check in on you and will still add photos as well but who I am and what I am doing is not as important as what I do, who I love, and my art.
So to her immediate family, Nanner and Barb and I would like to share this picture with you...
I love this smile i captured at this past relay for life....she was pushing her granddaughter around the track in the survivor walk...she was physically weak there....but she never showed it! A true angel on earth!!!
I am sooooooooooo excited about Terry's artistic flare as she worked together with a local leather company to create some luxury handbags called "The Angel Collection" which was already scheduled to be launched this month for Breast Cancer awareness. I hope TL Townsend Leather updates their website soon because these are gorgeous bags!!!
look at the detail, this is Terry's quote embossed on the inside pocket!
