You are all peacefully invited to my bedroom! My DIY Spring-tacular bedroom event with start tomorrow. I will be sharing with you some very fun and easy spring spruce up ideas to turn your bedroom into an instant retreat.
If you came here looking for bees today, I know it is Tuesday but was unable to get my act post together in time. As I gather for next week's Bee Spotting, I must set some bait. Here you go my pretties...fresh and lovely tulips all in a row.
Okay, your comments helped and even cracked me up. I work on a wide screen computer and wonder if things get cut off on smaller ones if not in "fluid pixels"...then realized the size I see is already cropped with lots of extra room on the sides. I also realized the majority of us use view through readers anyway. Thanks for the help!
I need help. Stop laughing! Anyway...I changed the "visual" of the blog to fluid pixels which means it will spread out across any screen. Now, since I can only see it from our computers, I do not know what it looks like on yours. Please help, I am not a web designer or really good with that stuff. I thought it would make my pictures not so chopped off...which I just noticed recently. So my questions are: Is the visual better now for YOU? Was it better before? Did it make a difference at all? Was it better aligned before? Are you thinking who the "blank" cares, you only come here to read because I am so entertaining?
Thank you in advance for the help, your opinion means a lot to me.
...pussy willow that is! After Friday's search for Spring and finding a pussy willow imposter, I was ready to set out Saturday once again. We must have the stuff, it's a weed!! We got weeds...and pussy willow! Right back by the pond where I thought it would be.
The Honey bunch of a family wanted to go with for a nature walk...check out their idea of a "walk". Mr. Honey says "wanna go for a tractor ride nature walk?" Go ahead, humor me with the comments on that...I live this daily....while you are at it don't forget to mention the dilapidated shed that is built with trees on the inside. If you know old structures, you know what I mean.
When anyone asks my precious little girl what she did this weekend, she can proudly answer...at age 6..."I fired up the tractor and learned to drive"
hmmm, that smile at a successful start worries me a bit...maybe I should wear more dresses and take her to shopping malls on the weekend ;)
They hit snow in the road field...I of course walked and took pictures of things like...
...this cool "holy tree", and...
neato red sprouts against blue sky.
It has been a busy spring weekend and spend a large chunk of time unplugged and doing more massive purging, reorganizing...a bedroom makeover and loads of new art. Just wait until you see all the new goodies coming up. That includes a new "Fancy Ki-ki" which was done before the weekend with no time to post. I am even going to give a try to selling prints and some fun new items via "up-cycling" my mission reorganization finds. I have so much to show and tell...all as soon as I can.
It was a beautiful day yesterday. I did spring cleaning....aka more mission organization...in the morning. Pajama Girl had a half day, picked her up and smelled Spring at 11:15 in the morning. It led me to make an impulse stop at a florist to pick up tulips on the way home. It also led us outside in search of Pussy Willows. We have 65 acres...there just must be some...somewhere! We also seached for more Spring things.
(a wellie full of snow does not feel like Spring...brrr)
This does not look like a Spring home either
Momma and Papa Goose have said it is Spring enough...every year they nest in the back of our fields near the pond.
The question is...did we find Pussy Willow? I had hoped so but something seemed odd or maybe we hit the jackpot of all Pussy Willow. Close to our house we saw this:
They are as soft as kittens toes but I had always thought it had grown straight up and down and more red in color.....and did not grow on a trunk this size:
We snipped a few limbs of a smaller offspring near this anyway since the light grey and soft fuzzies had a charming look. Mr. Honey was home at this point so me, in my blondness, tell him...convincingly that the giant tree by the old pool fence is really a giant Pussy Willow tree. He said "all this time I thought that was a Quaking Aspen" Then we both thought Pussy Willows were more like shrubs.
Now comes the lesson
I could not let it rest, I looked up Quaking Aspen and guess what I found out....it is in the Willow family! We were both right, him more than me as usual when it comes to the brainiac things. (I am with Einstein who once said something along the lines of "why clutter your brain with stuff you can easily find in an handy reference source") Maybe he did not say it exactly like that but I can look it up if need be. I do know Einstein said " Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish." and another favorite "Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves." Which has absolutely nothing to do with this post. I love Einstein and his quotes, I love that he believed in himself. I also think I will end this tangent, go find an Einstein quote of the day widget-a-ma-thing to add and unplug for a while.
***TO DEBBY, THAT WAS NOT A 7 STOREY PUSSY WILLOW YOU SAW OUT THE WINDOW THAT DAY, BUT CLOSE!***
I have been playing around with some fun images, then making a digital collage then ended up using it as my twitter wallpaper. Combining skills and learning new ones. Some days I force myself to sit at the computer and learn how to do something instead of looking at pretty pictures.
To my fellow artists, you are posting some pretty pictures and I am loving them up even though you may think I forgot about you. I look at several posts and pictures a few different times a day. It is so wonderful to see so much talent. I am so happy to have entered this world of blogging and just want to say:
Fancy pants Ki-ki has put on her ears and is hopping into Spring.
I love this one, I cracked myself up when I doodled the ears on her. The photos do not do the pale cricket green canvas justice. I try to get it true on the photo editing software but it is not working out for me. It is a wonderful color and will put spring in any-one's hop!
if you doodle some tulips would they be "doolips" or "toodles"? Whatever you choose to call them, you need to peek around the corner to see who is handing them you.
