This new year had taken off in a whirlwind. There has been good, bad and nothing too ugly yet! The trip back home to Elmira, NY was nice. However I have come to the conclusion Lauren gets car sick a bit. (thanks Kim and Pookie for the hysterical text messages that lifted my mood that first night.) Mommy (that would be me) did run out and buy some of those "Magic" wrist bands that use acupressure to stop nausea, worked like a charm!
So the good first, it actually came first. Another store in CT is interested in possibly carrying some of my scrabble tile necklaces. I have Teri at the Red Garage in Newtown, CT to thank for that. Then my husband has had some interviews for some hot new jobs. Fingers crossed on that. I am also going to sell my wears at a huge rally for the Relay for Life in March. This year it is at the college. We have gone from a small restaurant to a bit bigger hotel banquet room to now a larger venue at the community college. It is really taken off and am so proud of what a small town can do. I am also honored to be a part of it all. Especially this year which will circle around to the bad news.
I am still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor with this one. A good friend of mine had some bad news in August and has just finished Chemo and radiation, after having some major surgery. I will keep the details under wrap for now. This all hit me like a ton of bricks since we have been so busy and not in great touch. She is my age, no big secret, only 40 years young. I ask all of you to include her in your prayers.
Seems there is so much to write about lately. I blog in my mind all the time now but getting to the computer is another thing. We have a love/hate relationship. Just a little while ago I stated out blogging and the whole computer locked up out of nowhere. So I lost what I had started typing. I get antsy sitting here to long anyway so now I will spell check, publish and hit the hive.
